Stephen L. Seeherman, 71, of Laflin, died Sunday evening, October 27, 2013, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Abe and Pearl Engel Seeherman, was a graduate of Kingston High School and attended Wilkes College. Mr. Seeherman served in the US Army in the 300th Field Hospital. He had his Real Estate License and sold real estate for many years. He founded Commonwealth Adjusters and was one of the first in the world to be accredited and recoginized with the distinction of being Senior Professional Public Adjuster.
Stephen was a past president of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, on the Board of Directors for Luzerne County Transportation Authority, was a member of the Jewish War Veterans, Temple Israel Synagogue, Masons Lodge 442 and other civic and religious organizations.
He was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Heidi A. Seeherman.
Mr. Seeherman is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Sheila Novzen; sons, Jay, Laflin; Scott and his wife, Maria, Laflin; two granddaughters, Samantha and Nora, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Holch Yosher Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Shiva will be observed 7-9 pm, Tuesday; 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, Wednesday and Thursday; 7-9 pm Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Sunday at 16 Peachwood Drive, Laflin.
Memorial contributions may be made to charity of donor's choice.
