Sidney Kirshner, 95, formerly of Plains and Fort Worth, FL, died Sunday, May 27, 2018, in Highlands Park, Wilkes-Barre Twp.
Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Jacob Kirshner and Celia Lehrman Kirshner and was a graduate of Plains High School. Sidney owned and operated Midvale Paper Box Manufacturing and was a former member of Congregation Ohav Zedek and other civic and religious organizations. He served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his loving wife, Sydelle; infant son, Jackie and siblings, Joseph, Myer, Maurice, Gertrude and Irving
Sidney is survived by his daughter, Amy Sussman, Philadelphia; son, Dr. Marc Kirshner and his wife, Jane, Midlothian, VA; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at 11:00 am in Temple Israel Cemetery, 210 Dennison Street, Swoyersville with Rabbi Larry Kaplan officiating.
There will be no local shiva
