Shirley S. Weiss, of Kingston, died Saturday, January 14, 2017, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Max and Rose Messman Shnirman and earned her bachelors degree from Brooklyn College and masters degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She was a member of Congregation Ohav Zedek, Hadassah and the Jewish Community Center.
Shirley was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by husband, Harry Weiss; son, Gerald Weiss and brother Ralph Shnirman.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence Weiss, NYC and Kingston, grandsons, Joshua and Ethan Weiss and niece and nephew, Nina Schattner and Dr. Gary Roggin.
Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at 12:00 noon, at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River St Wilkes-Barre, with Rabbi Dovid Kaplan officiating. Interment will be in Ohav Zedek Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Shiva will be at 362 Reynolds St. Kingston, from 6 to 9 pm, Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Ohav Zedek, 242 S. Franklin St. Wilkes-Barre.
