Sheldon R. Lubin 76 of Matthews, NC, formerly of Kingston PA, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Sheldon was a devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Ina (née Krasno), his brother Joel (Jane), his children Jeff (Nicole), Mark (Dia) and Elizabeth (Brian), grandchildren Jack, Matthew, Lindsay, Tommy and Zachary. Sheldon is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Hilda Lubin and sister Pamela. Sheldon graduated from Kingston High School in 1966 after which he attended Wilkes University. He served with distinction in the United States Army in both Germany and Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Being part of the US Army Band and Bowling Team were among his proudest military achievements.
Throughout his career he held managerial roles in family owned companies. He ended his career as a General Manager at Arley Wholesale, Scranton. Sheldon spent his early retirement volunteering at Head Start and at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. He and his wife moved to North Carolina in 2019 where he then volunteered his time at the Matthews Help Center.
Funeral services are under the direction of Rosenberg Funeral Home Wilkes-Barre, PA with services being held Monday, June 16 at 12 pm. Interment will follow in Temple Israel Cemetery, with Military Honors.
A Shiva Minyan will be held June 16 at 5:15 pm at Temple Israel in Wilkes-Barre, PA with visiting ending at 8:00 pm. A Shiva Minyan will also be held on June 18 at 7 pm at Temple Israel in Charlotte, NC. Shiva minyans will also be held at the home of Jane and Joel Lubin in Rockville, MD from Tuesday through Sunday morning, details are being worked out. Contributions in Sheldon’s memory can be made to Vietnam Veterans of America, to the Frank and Hilda Lubin Feed the Homeless Fund at Temple Israel, Wilkes Barre or to the Senior Rabbi’s Tzedakah Fund at Temple Israel, Charlotte.
