SHEILA B. ROSENTHAL

Sheila B. Rosenthal, 84, of Crestview, FL, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025, with her family by her side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Sheila was the daughter of the late Morris and Melvina Rosenthal. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from Marywood University, dedicating her professional life to helping others. Sheila served as an Oncology Social Worker at several institutions throughout her career, most recently at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital—a position she held with deep passion and commitment.

Sheila was a devoted member of Temple Israel Synagogue and was active in various civic and religious organizations, including B’nai B’rith Youth Organization, always offering her time and talents to the community she loved.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bert Rosenthal, and her sister, Jacqueline Kranson.

Left to cherish her memory are her nephews, Douglas (Darlene) Kranson and Blair (Elsie) Kranson; great-nieces and nephews, Michelle (Geoff) Richmond, Melanie (Guy) Lee, Sheri (Leon) Petersen, Ryan (Jill) Kranson, Kirk (Katy) Kranson, and Samantha (Joseph) Harris; as well as many great-great-nieces and nephews. Her warmth, wisdom, and humor will be remembered by all who knew her.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Temple Israel Cemetery in Swoyersville, with Rabbi Larry Kaplan officiating.
