SHARON STEHLE Obituary

Sharon Lee Stehle, a beloved mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2023, at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was born February 13, 1946, in Wilkes-Barre, to Ann and Nate Rosenthal, the third daughter of three in a family that held a special place in her heart throughout her life. Warm, sweet, kind and caring, Sharon enjoyed life with a radiant smile and enthusiastic laugh adored by her friends and family.

Sharon was raised and educated in Kingston, where she graduated from Kingston High School. Sharon had a deep connection to her hometown and its Jewish community and spent most of her life in the Wyoming Valley. Sharon was a member of Temple B'nai B'rith, where she logged many volunteer hours, Kingston Historical Society, active with the Luzerne County Democratic Party and worked as a customer service representative for Commonwealth Telephone.

Sharon’s memory will forever be cherished by her loving daughters, Heather Finkle and her husband, Andrew of Newtown, and Ellen Moharsky-D'Angelo and her husband, Ted of Maryland; and her beloved grandchildren, Julia and Joshua Finkle, with whom she took enormous pride and cherished the time spent with them; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In honoring Sharon’s memory, her family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Love For Liam Foundation (www.loveforliam.org) or the FD/MAS Alliance (secure.givelively.org/donate/fibrous-dysplasia-foundation-inc/fdmas-alliance-launch/gabrielle-meyer bravyak), to celebrate Sharon's love for her great-great nephews, William Hershel “Liam” Johnson, who passed away 24 days after his birth in August 2021 from a rare and severe form of epilepsy, and Miles Bravyak, who was diagnosed with craniofacial FD, a rare bone disease 18 months ago. Both charities support research and treatment related to these conditions.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22nd, at Temple B'nai B'rith Cemetery, Hanover Township, with Rabbi Eric Mollo officiating.

Shiva will be observed locally immediately following the service in Wilkes-Barre. Shiva will also be observed on Monday, March 25th, from 5-8 p.m. at Heather & Andrew Finkle’s home in Newtown, PA. Friends and family are welcome to attend and pay their respects.

Sharon Lee Stehle will be deeply missed and forever remembered as an extraordinarily kind and gentle woman who touched the hearts of many. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all friends and loved ones for their support and condolences during this difficult time. May her memory be a blessing.
