SHALOM LEVY Obituary

Shalom “Charlie” Levy, beloved husband, father, brother, son and Saba died peacefully in the arms of his family in Greenville NC at the age of 60.
He was born in Haifa Israel on November 13, 1964 to parents Nissim Levy (deceased) and Yael Luzon (Arad, Israel).


Survived by wife Carolyn Koons Levy (Drums, PA.) 3 siblings, Ya’acov (Florida), Dror and wife, Lee Robzon Levi (Kingston PA), Esther Alon (Arad,Israel), Daughters Irene Levy King and husband Branden King (Coatesville PA), Trentina and Florence Bellucci (Mountain Top, PA); Grandchildren Julianna Claire, James Claire, Josepine King and many nieces and nephews.


Ex-wives Lisa Schwartz Pettinati, mother of Irene (Coatesville, PA) and Hillary Greenberg (Dallas, PA)


Charlie was born in Haifa Israel, attended school through 12 th grade, and entered the Israeli military service as an anti-aircraft artillery gunner. He went to Engineering school to learn electronics after completing military duty. He immigrated to the US in 1985 and lived in Philadelphia for a number of years where he worked as a cab driver and mechanic among other occupations. He moved to Mountain Top where he met his current wife and worked as a building contractor, OTR trucker and pilot. He and his wife moved to Elizabeth City NC in 2021 where they ran Ocean Breeze Aviation flight school for 2 years up to the current time.


Charlie was passionate about his family, grandchildren, dogs and aviation. He was involved in aviation for the past 35 years and was highly focused on providing excellence in pilot training. He was never happier than when helping his students pass their licensure test and becoming a private pilot. That was unless he was spending quality time with his grandchildren, dogs, and family.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM at Ohav Zedek cemetery 501 Chestnut St. Hanover Twp. PA on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. followed by burial.

Shiva will be held at the Ohav Zedek from 6:00- 8:30 PM this Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday evenings. (Shiva minyans will take place between 7:30-8:30 PM each Shiva evening).
