SELMA BROWN

Selma Friedman Brown, 98, passed away peacefully after a long illness at her home in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Selma grew up in Taylor, PA and graduated from Taylor High School. She worked as head of the ladies department at Friedmans Department Store, a family run business, until she married Sidney Brown in 1947.

She and Sidney resided in Kingston for many years where they raised their two children, Barbara and Jeffrey. Selma was a devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother. She was an amazing housekeeper and an incredible baker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years and the last survivor of her 9 siblings.

Selma is survived by her two children, daughter, Barbara Brown who resides in Manhattan with her husband, Jeffrey Morris and son, Jeffrey Brown who resides in Miami and is married to Rossana Fantoni. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, her closest being Stephen Miller and Deborah Miller Weinstein and sister and brother in laws, Doris and Nathan Brown and Harriet and Joseph Schecttman.

Funeral services will be held at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 3:30 pm with Rabbi Dovid Kaplan officiating. Interment will be in Ohav Zedek Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Shiva will be observed from 8 to 10 pm, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Woodlands Inn and Resort, Wilkes-Barre.
