Ruth Rubin, 94, of Kingston, died Tuesday evening, January 3, 2017, in the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation, Dallas.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Anna Swetlitz Strauss and was a graduate of Coughlin High School. Ruth was a bookkeeper, prior to retiring for Rubin Specialty Company and was a member of the former Holche Yosher Synagogue; of the former United Orthodox Synagogue; a member of Congregation Ohav Zedek and a former member of the JCC.
Ruth was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Irving; siblings, Abe, Ray, Leona, Gertrude and Seymour.
She is survived by her loving sons, Melford Rubin and his wife, Maxine, Bensalem; Dr. William Rubin and his wife, Cheryl, Shavertown; 5 grandchildren, Leah, Michael, Juli, Dawn and Jeffrey; 3 great grandchildren, Jack, Henry, Liza and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 11:00 am in Holche Yosher Cemetery, South Main Street, Hanover Twp.
Shiva will be observed from 7 to 9 pm, Saturday, January 7, 2017 and 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the home of Dr. William and Cheryl Rubin.
