Rosalind (Roz) Duncan, of Laflin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Saul and Lillian Shaffer Felder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edwin Duncan and son Jeffrey Duncan.
Roz was a member at Temple Israel Synagogue. She had a long time career as a leader at Price Chopper where she enjoyed connecting with her community. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She took extreme pride in weaving each grandchild a tallis for their b’nai mitzvah. Lifelong friendships were fulfilling to Roz as she enjoyed many outings, playing mahjong, long phone calls, and life celebrations with them.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Amy (Art) Duncan Daley of Laflin, Stacey (Richard) Duncan Blum of St. Augustine, FL, Alison (Michael) Duncan Berg of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Seth, Brooke, Jordan, Sydney, Gavyn, Isaac, Lily, Hunter, Taylor, Noah, Cooper, and daughter in law, Sharon Duncan of Holland, PA and sister in law Susan (Theodore) Duncan Leventhal of Bensalem, PA.
Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River St. Wilkes-Barre with interment following in Temple Israel Cemetery, Denison St, Swoyersville. Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Aaron Abraham will officiate.
Shiva will be observed at The Woodlands Inn and Resort, Wilkes-Barre, Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
