Ronald D. Sampiero, 68, of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of Helen Kahn Sampiero, Wilkes-Barre and the late Peter Sampiero. Ronald was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1965, and attended Wilkes College, Queen College and graduated from Scranton University.
He resided in Miami, FL from 1979-2009 and was a Food and Beverage Executive in the Hotel industry, prior to retiring. He was a mentor to many of today's leaders in food service and hotel management. He was a member of Temple B'nai B'rith, Kingston and other civic and religious organizations.
Ron is survived, in addition to his mother, by sons, Joshua E. Sampiero, Salzburg, Austria; Daniel D. Sampiero, St. Augustine, FL; brother, Ed Sampiero, Wilkes-Barre; sister, Hope Loiacono, Wilkes-Barre and niece, Chelsea, Madison, WI.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015, at 11:00 am from the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, with Rabbi Roger Lerner officiating.
Interment will follow in Temple B'nai B'rith Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Shiva will be observed at the home of his brother, Ed Sampiero at 348 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre, 7-9 pm Monday and Tuesday.
