RICHARD S. ROME

Richard S. Rome, of Kingston, passed away at home on Friday, March 22, 2024.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Earl and Edith Meltzer Rome; was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1963. He continued his education at Mansfield State College where he studied Education and earned his Masters Degree in Education from the University of Miami.  Richard worked as a Math Teacher at Susquehanna Township Middle School in Harrisburg, a job he truly loved and cared for all of his students. Richard was very active with the JCC in Allentown and worked as a sports director. He enjoyed playing the drums, coaching basketball and was a New York Yankees and Philadelphia Eagles Fan.  
 

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Ellen Rome and her boyfriend Joseph Sotack of Scranton; step daughters Susie (Robb) Kleinman of Fairfax, VA, Dr. Lisa Sporillo of Miramar, FL; two grandchildren Abby Kleinman, Aiden Kleinman; sister Judie Wolnek of Harrisburg, one niece Karen Purcell and one nephew David Wolnek.

A celebration of life will be held at a date and time to be announced.

Richard was a loving father, brother, uncle, friend and will be missed by many.
