Reva Zarembo, 99, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died November 29, 2013 at Weinberg Terrace, Pittsburgh, PA.
Born January 25, 1914, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Silverstein Mitchneck and was a graduate of GAR High School, Class of 1932. Reva was a member of Ohav Zedek, it's sisterhood; a life member of the JCC and active in the JCC activities; member of Talmud Torah and B'nai B'rith Women, where she served as past president for two terms, was an avid bowler and was a girl scout leader at the JCC for 20 years.
Reva was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Zarembo in 1999; brothers, Francis Mitchneck, Jacob Mitchneck, Samuel Mitchneck, and sisters, Shirley Norton and Rose Brand.
She is survived by her children, Stuart Zarembo and wife Arlene, Pittsburgh; Anita Raphael and husband Michael, Windsor, CT; Jane Blase and husband Scott, San Antonio, TX; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Mitzi Edelson, North Wales, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, December 3, 11 AM, at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in Ohav Zedek Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Shiva will be observed at the Woodlands Inn Tuesday evening, 6 - 8 PM.
