Philip Weinstein, of Bethlehem, died Monday morning, August 10, 2015, in St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Isaac and Ida Freeman Weinstein and was a graduate of GAR High School, Bloomsburg University and the University of Maryland where he earned his Masters Degree in Speech Pathology. Philip served in the United States Army during World War II and during the Occupation of Japan.
He was a member of Bnai Brith, Baltimore, the Baltimore County Board of Education Retired Teachers and other civic, professional and religious organizations.
Philip was preceded in death by brothers, Isadore, William, David and Robert Weinstein and sisters, Ellen Lehman and Sara Kamm.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Phyllis E. Weingarten, Bethlehem; son, Edward Weinstein and his wife, Roseann, High Bridge, NJ; daughter, Barbara Bradbury and her husband, Mitchell, New Rochelle, NY; 3 grandchildren, Jonathan, Isabelle and Sarah; nieces and nephews.
Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 12:30 pm in Ohav Zedek Cemetery, 500 Chestnut Street, Hanover Township. Rabbi Dovid Saks will officiate.
There will be no local shiva.
