PEARL KAUFMAN

Pearl Kaufman, 99, of New York City, formerly of Edwardsville and Kingston, died Friday, June 9, 2017 in Calvary Hospital, New York.

Born in Wyoming, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna (White) Kaufman. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Hilda and Rebecca.

Pearl was a graduate of Wyoming High School. She was passionate about classical music, introducing her nieces, nephews and others to opera and the arts. Prior to retiring, she was a realtor for Lewith & Freeman, was active with Jewish Family Services, and was a member of the Jewish Community Center, Congregation Ohav Zedek, Congregation Anshe Ahavas Achim (Exeter) and other civic and religious organizations.

Pearl is survived by her sister, Doris Shaiman, and loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at 2:00PM, at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River St. Wilkes-Barre with interment in Anshe Ahavas Achim Cemetery, West Pittston. Shiva will be observed at Congregation Ohav Zedek from 4:30 to 6:30PM on Sunday.
