NORMAN DRESSLER Obituary

Norman J. Dressler, 84, of Kingston, died Friday, December 2, 2016, in the Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, FL.

Born in Exeter, December 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Paul and Marie Dressler and was a graduate of NY Military Academy, Class of 1949 and University of Pennsylvania, Class of 1953, where he was a Lacrosse Player. Norman served his country proudly in the U. S. Army Signal Corp Aviation Center, was cleared for top secret work, was Jewish Religious Leader of Fort Monmouth and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. He joined his father in the Meat Packing Industry at Dressler Packing Company in 1955, which was lost in the Flood of 1972 and then bought Klein Candy Company, Kingston in 1973. He retired in 2000, spending much of the retirement traveling and spending time with family and friends. Norman, being a wine enthusiast, loved a good glass of wine, was a collector of Antiques and loved watching college football. He had a great sense of humor, some found a little corny, and was an avid bridge player and life master.

He was awarded N. Y. Man of the year by Brown & Williamson; was a 32nd degree Mason, was Past President of Temple B'nai B'rith, Kingston and was a member of many social clubs, including the Westmoreland Club and Northeastern PA Philharmonic.

Norman is survived by his beloved family, his loving wife of 59 years, the former Adele Rubinow; children, Cindy Dressler, NYC; Steven Dressler, NYC; sister, Dorothy Dressler Barr, NYC and was a loving grandfather to his three amazing, dynamite grandchildren, Hannah, Tali and Naomi Dressler, with whom he loved spending time with.
