NINA IZENBERG Obituary

Nina Rinzler Izenberg

February 2, 1929 – January 16, 2025

Nina Rinzler Izenberg, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on January 16 th . Born in Passaic, New Jersey to Rose and Jack Rinzler, Nina lived 95 wonderful years – a full life filled with love, curiosity and adventure.

A proud graduate of Syracuse University, Nina married her beau, Jesse Izenberg, right after her graduation, settled with him in Kingston PA, and went on to have a wonderful 69 year marriage until Jesse passed away, while staying with her at Wesley Village, in 2019. Nina cherished learning and carried that love with her throughout her life. Her adventurous spirit took her around the globe, where she embraced new cultures, experiences and connections with an open heart and boundless enthusiasm. Her work as a travel agent was a perfect fit for her!

Above all, Nina was the cornerstone of her family. She is survived by her devoted daughters Laney (Bob Ufberg) and Jill (Jack Savitz), her cherished grandsons: Andy, Michael, Marc, Justin, Ross, Ryan and Max and their spouses, and nine adoring great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.

Nina was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Rinzler and her sister Ellen Hersh. Nina will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, unwavering love for her family and the inspiration she provided to all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Village for taking exceptional care of our mom for the past 7+ years and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for making her final transition peaceful. A huge thank you goes to her aide Kenya, without whom we would have been lost.

Funeral will take place on Sunday, January 19th at 11:30 at the Rosenberg Funeral Home, Wilkes Barre. Interment will be at Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville, PA.

Shiva will take place Sunday afternoon 3-6 at The JCC in Kingston PA and Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 at Laney and Bob’s home at 102 Stone Ridge Circle, Clarks Summit.
