Milton Grossman, 95, of Manhattan, died Wednesday morning, February 19, 2014, in New York University Medical Center.
Milton was born in Plains as the son of the late Max and Rose Ecker Grossman. He was a graduate of Plains High School and attended NYU where he earned a Bachelor of Science and later earned a Masters Degree in Education. Milton taught in the Yonkers School District and was an avid participant in the Jewish community of Yonkers until 2013.
Milton joins his brothers, Abner, Bernard, Emanuel, Herbert, Jerome and Seymour Grossman and sister, Surilla Aqua.
He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Grossman; sons, Robert Grossman, MD, Dean and CEO of NYU Medical Center, NYC and Jay Grossman, MD, faculty of University of Miami Medicine, Miami, FL; three grandchildren, Ben of New York, David of Chicago, and Adriana of St. Paul; two great-grandchildren, Eliza and Max; sister, Pearl Kornblau, brother, Asher Grossman, both of Florida; his nieces and his nephews. He is also survived by the love and kindness he always showed others and by his ceaseless optimism. Milton leaves behind a wealth of happy memories and beloved sayings that immortalize his memory amid family and friends.
Graveside funeral service will be conducted, Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 3:00 pm in Ohav Zedek Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Arrangements by the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre.
Shiva will be observed in Manhattan.
