MILDRED FRANK

Mildred Frank, 91, formerly of Kingston, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Bella Kane Utan and was a graduate of Scranton High School. She was a member of Temple Israel Synagogue, it's sisterhood, Hadassah, the Jewish Community Center and other civic and religious organizations. Mildred was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Arthur Frank in 2008.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Alan Frank, Kingston; Jeffery "Jake" Frank, Denver, CO; daughter, Carol Melcher and her husband, Mark, Franklin, MA; 3 grandchildren, Joshua, Kimberly and Elias, one great grandchild, Hudson; sister, Shirley Selton, Forest Hill, NY; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, November 23, 2014, at 1:00 pm at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc., 348 S. River St. Wilkes-Barre. Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Ahron Abraham will officiate.

Interment will follow in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville.

Shiva will be observed at 201 James Street, Kingston, 7-9 pm Sunday, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Monday and 7-9 pm Tuesday.

Memorial contribution may be made to Temple Israel Synagogue, 236 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre, or charity of donors choice.
