MARVIN WEINSTOCK Obituary

Marvin S. Weinstock, 98, of Kingston, died Thursday evening, December 5, 2013 in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Max and Cecil Levy Weinstock, and was a graduate of GAR High School, Class of 1934. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a grocer in Wilkes-Barre for many years, prior to retirement. Mr. Weinstock was a member of Congregation Ohav Zedek, the former United Orthodox Synagogue, the former Temple Bnai Jacob, the JCC, its Men's Club and other civic and religious organizations.

Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann in 1994; brother, Irving and sister Frances.

He is survived by children, Dr. Elliott Weinstock, and his wife, Carol, Pittsburgh; Janice Havera and her husband, Bruce, Mountain Top; four grandchildren, Dr. Matthew Weinstock and his wife, Megan; Dr. Michael Weinstock; Dr. Allison Weinstock; Dr. Scott Havera; three brothers, Chester, Paul and Leonard Weinstock, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 8, 2013, at 11:00 am, at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre with Rabbi Raphael Nemetsky officiating.

Interment will be in Bnai Jacob Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre

Shiva will be observed at The Woodlands Sunday from 6 to 9 pm.
