Bart Bartikowsky, Ann's Choice, Warminster, PA, passed away on
at the age of 87 at Abington Hospice, Warminster, PA. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Bernard and Camilla (Tintner) Bartikowsky and was a graduate of Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre. After high school, Bart served in the Navy in WWII from 1944-46 and in the Korean War from 1950-52. After the war, he attended Penn Wharton School and Wilkes College and was Vice President of Bartikowsky Jewelers, a family owned business, until his retirement in August 1993. He was a member of the Irem Temple Shrine, its band and a life member of the Free Masons Lodge 61 in Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of Temple Israel, Wilkes-Barre, Jewish War Veterans, Dream Mile fly-fishing club, Blakeslee, PA, and other local organizations before moving to Warminster. Bart always had a joke to tell, a funny, witty story and a great sense of humor. All who knew him mourn his loss.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Meer) Bartikowsky, formally of Scranton, PA; cherished daughters Nancy (Jeff) Palumbo, Little Silver, NJ; Jill Bartikowsky, Houston, TX; Ellen (Scott) Levithan, Lansdale, PA; a proud grampy to Bryan (Stephanie) Palumbo, Hoboken, NJ; Amy Palumbo and fiancAC. Scott Martinoh, Hoboken, NJ; Brett Levithan and Alex Levithan, Lansdale, PA; his brother Max Bartikowsky (Anna Cervenak), Forty Fort, PA; nieces, nephews and cousins. His sister, Jane (Bartikowsky) Karnofsky, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, October 20th at 12:30 PM at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, PA. Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Ahron Abraham officiating.
Interment will follow in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Shiva will be observed at the home of his daughter and son in law, Ellen and Scott Levithan, on Sunday night, 7 PM to 9 PM; Monday and Tuesday at the Bartikowsky residence at Ann's Choice from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM; and locally Sunday and Monday, from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Woodlands Inn and Resort, Wilkes-Barre.
Memorial Contributions if desired, may be made to Abington Hospice at Warminster or the Benevolent Care Fund, Ann's Choice or the donor's favorite charity.
