LEAH SCHWARTZ Obituary

Leah Klott Schwartz, 96, of Binghamton, NY, formerly of Exeter, died Sunday, September 8, 2013, in Bridgewater Nursing Home, Binghamton, NY

Born in Kiev, Russia, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Ray Klott, received her Bachelors of Science degree from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, and prior to retiring was a social worker. Leah was a member and past president of the JCC Senior Friendship Club, Binghamton, NY; member of West End Synagogue and past president of West End sisterhood, Nashville, TN; Life Member of Hadassah; member of Temple Israel, Vestal, NY; Council of Jewish Women, Girl Scout Council, Nashville, TN; and other civic and religious organizations.

Mrs. Schwartz was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Schwartz and son, Joseph Schwartz.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynne S. Green and her husband, Howard Green, Binghamton, NY; daughter in law, Sheila Schwartz, Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Jay and Sandi Green; Pam and Lee Furman; Brett and Wendy Green; Mark Schwartz; Rae Ellen and Jason Zurenda; eleven great grandchildren, Alison, Erica, Zachary, Dylan, Derek, Hannah, Isaac, Ari, Grace, Eli and Shira.

Graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 11:00 am in Anshe Ahavas Achim Cemetery, West Pittston.

Arrangements by the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre.
