JOANNE RAUB KLUGER

Joanne Raub Kluger, 95, Boca Raton, FL and formerly of Forty Fort, Pa, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024. 

Born in Wilkes Barre, she was the daughter of Eva Cohen Raub and Jacob S. Raub.

Jody graduated from Wyoming Seminary and the University of North Carolina Women’s College with a degree in economics. 

She was married to her great love, Dr. Sheldon H. Kluger, who died in 1970. 

She was on the board of directors of J. S. Raub Shoe Corporation and of Ja-Va, Inc. She was an Eternal Light member of Temple Israel and a member of its Sisterhood; a Life member and past vice president of Hadassah; past chairman of the women’s division of UJA; member of the National Council of Jewish Women. She also volunteered at WB General Hospital and Meals on Wheels, among other organizations. 

Jody was an active member of The Polo Club, Boca Raton for close to 30 years and greatly enjoyed tennis and bridge. 

She had incredible strength, grace and pure love for her family. 

She is survived and adored by her five children, Robert (Lee Ann), Jack, Jane Gardner (Ken), David (Emma) and Daniel, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sister Judith Klein (Harvey) and brother-in-law Allan Kluger (Sue).

Graveside funeral service will be at Temple Israel Cemetery, Dennison St. Swoyersville on Sunday, January 28th at noon. 

Arrangements under the direction of the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. Wilkes-Barre.

Shiva will be observed by the family at the Friedman JCC, 613 S. J. Strauss Lane, Kingston following the funeral on Sunday from 1:30-4:30 pm
