Jewel S. Jacobs, 92, of Dallas, died Saturday morning, Feb. 20, 2021, at The Meadows Nursing Home, Dallas.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Annette Levin Cohen and was a graduate of Kingston High School. Jewel continued her education at Drexel Institute of Technology where she met and married her loving husband, Dr. Irvin Jacobs. She was employed as a librarian by United Hebrew Institute, Kingston, prior to retirement. A dinner at The Woodlands was celebrated in her honor by UHI in 2009 where she received the Excellence in Teaching Award.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Dr. Irv Jacobs, two months prior.
She is survived by her son, Randy (Mary Richmond) Jacobs, Dallas; Pam Williams, Pringle; brother-in-law, Charles (Joan) Jacobs, Philadelphia; granddaughter, Nikki; great-grandchildren, Ian and McKenzie; nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville. Rabbi Larry Kaplan will officiate.
