Helen Estelle Rubin (nee Schainuck), 85
The embodiment of love and kindness, Helen passed peacefully at home surrounded by her children on August 2, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Rubin and loving mother of William Rubin, Keith Rubin, Davida Rubin-Baker and Faye Rubin-Orefice. She was grateful for every precious moment of life and lived by example. A public school teacher for more than 4 decades, Helen was an inspiration to many including family, friends, students, colleagues and especially to her 13 grandchildren: David Aron, Yonaton, Isaiah, Sarah Mina, Emet, Micah, Silin, Elijah, Noah, Olivia, Hamilton, Halston, and Joshua. Helen was the sister of Renee Cohn and Gerard Schainuck, and the daughter of cherished parents David and Minerva Schainuck — all of whom predeceased her. Services were held in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. May her ever-present love, grace and dignity inspire and endure.
