GERTRUDE HARRIS

Gertrude “Trudy” Harris, 97, of Kingston, passed away quietly at home on August 28, 2022.

Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel P. and Lena Lappen Cohen; was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1941 and attended Penn State University.

She was married to her life long love Wesley Harris, who preceded her in death in 2006.

She was a member of Temple Israel, a lifetime member of Hadassah, pink ladies at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and other philanthropic organizations.

Surviving are sons, Dr. Michael Harris and his wife Tammie, Dr. Alan Harris and his wife, Jan. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Lefkowitz.

She is also survived by 7 grandsons; 6 great grandchildren, all scattered around the country. Her life was filled with kindness for others. Her gentle personality will be sorely missed by all who knew her and appreciated her spirit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Jewish Community Center Summer Camp, Kingston.
