Florence Miller Robzen, of Kingston, died on Monday, May 2, 2022 at home.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Molly Wasserstrom Miller and was a graduate of Exeter High School and Bucknell Jr. College. Florence was a member of the Jewish Community Center, Eastern Star, the Former Anshe Emes Synagogue, Ohav Zedek and its sisterhood.
Florence was a very vibrant, active woman. Her number one passion was her family. She volunteered for many years at the General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, and she drove the blind. Florence loved to read and to do needlework and arts and crafts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leonard of 52 years; her daughter Ellen Robzen Leavitt; and her brother Dr. Alfred Miller; in laws: Celia & Ben, Esther & Sidney, and Jerry Robzen, Shirley Robzen Nestler and Irwin Nestler.
She is survived by her children: Barbara (Howie) Derman of Houston, TX; Shelley Robzen of Pietrasanta, Italy and Eric (Karen) Robzen of Collegeville, PA; son-in-law, Reese Leavitt of Boston, MA; sister-in-laws: Hannah Robzen and Bobby Miller; grandchildren: Courtney (Matt) Beckerleg, Lindsay (Aaron) Derman, Jason (Rachel) Leavitt and Andrew Leavitt, Jeff (Lisa Brody) Robzen, Ali (Mike) Benton; great-grandchildren: Aaron, Zach, Noah, Eliana and Nolan; nieces and nephews.
The family extends their gratitude to Florence's long time aide Ann Clement, and to the other wonderful caretakers.
Graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 1:30 pm in West Pittston Jewish Cemetery, West Pittston, PA.
Shiva will be observed at the Woodlands Inn and Resort, Wilkes-Barre, through the banquet entrance. on Tuesday May 3, 2022 from 5:30 - 8:00 PM.
