EVELYN ORLOV Obituary

Evelyn Orlov, 95, of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024.

Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Molly and Isidor Wishingrad. Evelyn was the youngest of 3 girls and her two sisters, Mildred Brown and Lillian Cohan, were her best friends throughout her life. She valued family above all else. Her daughters would describe her as a completely selfless mother, and her  insight was their compass throughout their life. She was married to Irwin Orlov, and although she was widowed at a young age, kept his memory alive for her children. Evelyn was a bookkeeper throughout her life and worked well into her 80’s. She was a member of Temple B'nai B'rith Synagogue, Kingston where she wore many hats as a volunteer, and served on the Board of Directors. She was an active participant at the Jewish Community Center, in Kingston, where she attended book clubs, current events, weekly games of rumicube, and even Yiddish classes. As those who knew her can attest, she had a natural curiosity about life, and loved learning.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Janice Orlov of Downingtown, PA, Amy Orlov of Chesterbrook, PA, Susan Strassman and her husband Mark of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren, Ryan and his fiancé Danielle, Jamie, and Olivia; and her nephews and their families.

Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 11:00 am at Temple B'nai B'rith Synagogue, Wyoming Avenue, Kingston with Rabbi Eric Mollo officiating.

Interment will follow in Temple B'nai B'rith Cemetery, Hanover Township, followed by a luncheon at the Friedman Jewish Community Center, Kingston. Shiva will be observed Wednesday
