Evelyn Goldstein, of Riverview Towers, Pittsburgh, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday morning, July 10, 2013, in Pittsburgh.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Max and Sarah Shufler and prior to retirement, was an Insurance Agent for Penn Millers Insurance Company. She was a member of the former United Orthodox Synagogue, Ohav Zedek Synagogue, the Jewish Community Center, all of Wilkes-Barre and other civic and religious organizations.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Isadore, March 6, 2000, one brother and six sisters.
She is survived by her children, son, Harvey Goldstein, Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Joyce Payavis and her husband Peter, Pringle; Saralee Leiber and her husband, William, Pittsburgh; granddaughter, Melissa Payavis; brother, Leonard Shufler, Pittsburgh and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday, July 12, 2013, at 1:00 pm at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 South River St., Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be Rabbi Raphael Nemetsky, of Congregation Ohav Zedek.
Interment will be in Anshe Sfard Cemetery, Demunds.
Shiva will be observed at The Woodlands Inn and Resort, Route 315, Plains Township, on Friday from 5:30-7:30pm and Sunday from 2:00-4:00pm.
