EDWIN DOBROWOLSKI Obituary

Edwin L. Dobrowolski, 86, of Shavertown, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.

Known as the most gentle, caring man, Ed was born in Duryea and was the son of the late Thaddeus and Mary Dobrowolski. He was a graduate of Duryea High School. Shortly before being drafted into the United States Army he met the love of his life, Patricia Zaremba. While in the army he served his country proudly as a surveyor where he spent 16 months overseas in Germany. Once honorably discharged from the army, Ed and Pat started married life and Ed worked as a Dairy Manager at Acme Markets for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, and watching college Football (especially Penn State). Once retired, he spent much of his life laughing with his grandchildren, attempting to fix anything that was broken, attending Jewish community events with his wife, and rescuing stray cats that became his dearest companions. While Ed held many titles in his life, his favorite one was "Pop".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Jean Dobrowolski, Pearl Donley, Doris Carey, Louise Szwczyk, and Thaddeus Dobrowolski.

Left to carry on his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia Zaremba Dobrowolski; children Jeffrey (Yana) Dobrowolski of Allentown, Lynn (Brett Shoemaker) Dobrowolski of Kingston, Kevin (Ashley White) Dobrowolski of Swoyersville; grandchildren Katelyn (Jacob) Buyarski Greenberg, Mya Dobrowolski; and nieces and nephews.
