Cynthia D. Kruger, 74, of Shavertown, died Monday morning, November 11, 2013, at home.
Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late David Marder and Beatrice Wallance. She was a graduate of The Rhodes School,NYC, NY, and received her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College,NYC NY. She received her Masters degree in Special Education from Adelphi University. Cindy was employed as a Special Education Teacher at the Three Village School District, East Setauket, NY. Cindy was a member of Temple Israel Synagogue and many other religious, civic and educational organizations.
Mrs. Kruger is survived by her loving husband, Matthew Kruger; sons, Andrew Kruger and his wife, Cynthia of Orange, CT; Dr. Erik Kruger and his wife, Abbe of Shavertown; five grandchildren, Dan, Sam, Max and Ethan, Sophia Kruger; cousin, Doris Klauber of Staten Island, brother in law and sister in law, Fred and Barbara Kruger of Commack, NY and sister in law, Roberta Warshawsky of Sun City West, AZ
Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 2:00 pm at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre. Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Ahron Abraham will officiate.
Interment will be in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Shiva will be observed at 13 Ivy Drive, Shavertown, 7 to 9 PM Tuesday; 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday and Thursday and 1 to 3 PM on Friday.
Memorial contributions, may be made to Medical Oncology Association Prescription Assistance Fund, 382 Pierce Street, Kingston, or Rabbi Kaplan Discretionary Fund, c/o Temple Israel, 236 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre.
