Charlotte Klavonski, of Plymouth, died late Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in Highland Park Nursing, Wilkes-Barre Twp.
Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose Goldstein Klavonski, proprietors of Klavonski Grocery, and was a graduate of Plymouth High School. She worked as a bookkeeper in the retail sales industry.
She was a member of Temple Israel Synagogue, the JCC and other civic and religious organizations. She served on the Levy concert Committee, as well as the Ritus Committee. Little Theater was another of Charlotte's passions. She appeared as Mother Abbess in "The Sound of Music", as Rose in "Gypsy," and as Bloody Mary in "South Pacific." The JCC Knitting Bee was another group to which Charlotte contributed her talents. She was a star knitter producing, along with others, hats, scarves and lap robes which were given to RSVP to distribute to worthwhile charities or to be sold to benefit the JCC camp. Her lovely baby sweaters and matching afghans have been displayed at the JCC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Merle Klavonski.
She is survived by her sister, Beth Sendzia, North Cape May, NJ; nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm from the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River St. Wilkes-Barre. Interment will follow in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville.
