Barbara Zatcoff Allan, formerly of Short Hills and Manchester Township, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 in Somerset at the age of 80.
Bobbie was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the daughter of Abe and Freida Zatcoff. She graduated from Meyers High School and the Pennsylvania State University where she was a member of the Sigma Delta Tau Sorority and the Penn State Thespians.
She lived in South Orange, then Short Hills, prior to her retirement to Manchester Township with her husband, Harold Stein. She spent years as a homemaker raising her children and then worked as a legal secretary at a law firm in Livingston.
Bobbie was an active member of Hadassah and volunteered for various other charitable organizations. She loved travel, music, dancing, and animals. She enjoyed playing mahjong, bridge, bocce and shuffleboard.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Stein, her brother, Ira Zatcoff and her parents, Abe and Freida (Kline) Zatcoff.
Surviving are her children, Amy (Allan) Smith and her wife Monica of Chester, Peter Allan and his wife Mary of Hillsborough, and her eight grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
A graveside service was held at B'nai Jacob Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre with Rabbi Dovid Kaplan officiating. Arrangements were by the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Wilkes-Barre.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Ira B. Zatcoff Memorial Scholarship (Wilkes University).
