Arkadiy Shlyapochnik, 92, of Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday, February 23, 2020, in Residential Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in the Soviet Union, he was the son of Ber Itzkah Shlyapochnik and Ida Shtockland Shlyapochnik. He had a doctorate in engineering and worked as an electrical engineer in science research. He was a member of the Freilox and Bagels Klezmer Band and the Jewish Community Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sima Agranovsky Shlyapochnik.
He is survived by his daughter, Inna Volodarsky and her husband, David; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Inc. 348 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Rabbi Larry Kaplan officiating. Interment will be in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Shiva will be observed at 160 Butternut Road, Shavertown; 7-9 on Wednesday and 2 to 4 on Thursday.
