Annette (Simon) DeAngio, age 61, of Erie passed away peacefully at her home, with her husband by her side, on Monday, December 23, 2013. Annette was born in Kingston, PA on July 8, 1952, a daughter of William Simon and the late Jean (Dumoff) Simon. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Gary M. DeAngio; two daughters Stacie Labrozzi, husband Joe of Winchester, VA, Megan Hamm, husband Marty of Leechburg, PA and three grandchildren; Dalton Hamm, Danielle and Nick Labrozzi. She is also survived by two sisters, Debra Simon of Guilford, CT and Marcia Zimniski, husband Tom of Dallas, PA.
Annette dedicated her life to serving others. As a professional, she provided support and guidance to those in need as a social worker at St. Martin's Center, at Brevillier Village, and other non profit agencies. One of Annette's proudest accomplishments was being able to organize a local soup kitchen; the Caring Kitchen through Temple Anshe Hesed, which served the local community for many years. Along with assisting those in need, Annette was very involved with her family. Annette enjoyed going on family vacations with her husband and children, going to the Zoo with her grandchildren, the theater, her cats; Lucy and Ethel, visiting her friends at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, and going to yard sales.
Shiva will be observed on Saturday 7-9 pm, Sunday 7-9 pm, Monday 7-9 pm and Tuesday 7-9 at the home of William Simon, 31 Third Ave. Kingston Pa.
